COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Construction Managers, no matter the title, are responsible for the overall success of assigned projects. Duties include overseeing and participating in the allocation of resources in order to ensure a safe, timely, and quality project, all while achieving and improving the profit margin. The construction manager is the primary contact along with the owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and other company personnel. Being the primary face of the company, this role focuses on keeping the customer happy to encourage long-term business relationships.

MULTIFAMILY/MIXED-USE CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Multifamily/Mixed-use construction leadership roles require years of experience. Being a leader means being responsible for all major oversights during construction and/or renovations of multi-story/multi-unit building projects. As a leader, your day-to-day tasks are focused on following the established project schedule by coordinating sub-contractor schedules and establishing sub-contractor manpower requirements to achieve project schedules. Other duties include: directing sub-contractors regarding their daily work priorities, enforcing project safety policies, holding weekly sub-contractor construction meetings, and weekly construction update meetings with architects & others in management.​

COMMERCIAL INTERIORS/TENANT IMPROVEMENT CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Careers within commercial interior, renovations, and tenant improvements construction require the knowledge of all phases during the construction process, including, materials needed, construction practices, and general building codes. An individual in a management capacity must understand the fundamentals of proper foundation, grading and site work, framing and beyond.  Strong communication is equal in importance to your technical construction knowledge and experience. You may be the main client, subcontractor and vendor contact during construction.

INSTITUTIONAL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Institutional construction managers plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction of institutional projects from start to finish. This job involves tasks such as monitoring the construction process to ensure the project is completed to schedule, negotiating contracts, and securing building permits and licenses. Most institutional construction project managers work full-time but may need to work additional hours to respond to delays, emergencies, or suppliers.  This role is well-suited to people who have an analytical mindset and great organizational skills.

HOSPITALITY CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT POSITIONS

Hotel, casino, and resort project managers and superintendents are responsible for controlling hospitality project supplies, reviewing construction work, and developing budgets and proposals for the hotel plan. Managers also perform frequent and comprehensive reviews of the construction's progress to check up on communication, cost-control and work force skill. A strong background in the ground-up and/or interior/tenant improvements of hospitality buildings is a must have to become a stand out leader in this space.
